Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms explain the rules for using PDFDoco's free tools and paid plans. PDFDoco is operated by Zees Comerce LLC. Payments are handled by our reseller, Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all orders.
The short version
- PDFDoco is run by Zees Comerce LLC (Los Angeles, California).
- Our PDF tools process your files in your browser — we don't upload or store them, and you keep all rights to them.
- Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders and handles payments, receipts and tax.
- Pro ($7.99/month) renews monthly until you cancel; the 7-Day Pass ($4.99) is one-time.
- You can get a full refund within 14 days of any payment — see the Refund Policy.
- Don't use PDFDoco for anything illegal, for fraud (such as fake invoices), or to unlock files that aren't yours.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
1.Who we are and this agreement
PDFDoco (the "Service"), available at www.pdfdoco.com, is owned and operated by Zees Comerce LLC, a limited liability company with its registered address at 5101 Santa Monica Blvd, STE 8, Los Angeles, CA 90029, United States ("PDFDoco", "we", "us" or "our").
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Zees Comerce LLC. By accessing or using the Service — with or without an account — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for it. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Your continued use of the Service after we update these Terms means you accept the updated version (see section 17).
2.Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to buy a paid plan. If you are under 18, you may use the free Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
3.The Service
PDFDoco provides online tools to edit, merge, split, compress, convert, protect and otherwise work with PDF and image files, an invoice generator, and optional AI writing assistance in the PDF editor.
- Files stay on your device. Our PDF and image tools run inside your web browser. Files you open in them are processed locally and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- AI features are the exception. When you choose to use an AI writing feature, the text you select (or, for "chat with document", the document's text) is sent to our server and our AI provider to generate a response. See our Privacy Policy.
- Because files are processed locally, we cannot recover your files. Keep your own copies of anything important.
We may add, change or remove features from time to time. If we remove a core feature of a paid plan during a billing period you have paid for, you may request a pro-rata refund for that period.
4.Accounts
Most tools can be used without an account. A free account gives you a higher daily limit and is required for paid plans. When you create an account, you agree to:
- provide a valid email address that you control and keep it up to date;
- keep your password secure and not share your account with others;
- be responsible for all activity under your account; and
- tell us promptly at support@pdfdoco.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You can stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and its data, email support@pdfdoco.com from the address on the account.
5.Plans and usage limits
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Guest (no account) | Free | 2 tasks per day, with ads |
| Free account | Free | 5 tasks per day, with ads |
| 7-Day Pass | $4.99, one-time | Unlimited tasks and no ads for 7 days from purchase. Does not renew. |
| Pro | $7.99 per month | Unlimited tasks, no ads and Pro features. Renews monthly until cancelled. |
The current features of each plan are listed on our Pricing page. Prices are shown in US dollars; applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated and added at checkout. A "task" is one completed operation with a tool, such as one merge or one compression. Files are limited to 50 MB per task. Reasonable-use limits apply to AI features on all plans to protect the Service from abuse.
6.Payments and our reseller, Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
This means that when you buy a paid plan, you buy it from Paddle, which processes your payment, issues your receipt or invoice, and collects and remits any sales tax or VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms. We never see or store your full card details.
Questions about a charge, receipt or payment method can be sent to Paddle at paddle.net, or to us at support@pdfdoco.com and we will help.
7.Subscriptions, renewals and cancellation
- Automatic renewal: a Pro subscription renews automatically every month and is charged to your payment method at the start of each billing period, until you cancel.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time using the link in your Paddle receipt email, at paddle.net, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- 7-Day Pass: a one-time purchase that gives Pro access for 7 days from purchase and does not renew. You are not charged again.
- Price changes: we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to your subscription, so you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Paddle may retry it. If it still cannot be collected, your account returns to the free plan.
8.Refunds
You can request a full refund within 14 days of any payment, for any reason. Full details and how to request one are in our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
9.Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service, or help anyone else use it, to:
- break any law or regulation, or infringe anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual-property rights;
- create or process content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, or that exploits or harms children;
- commit fraud, including creating fake or forged invoices, receipts, identity documents or certificates intended to deceive anyone;
- remove passwords or protection from documents that you do not own or do not have permission to change;
- send spam or distribute malware;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service — for example by probing, scanning or testing its vulnerabilities, bypassing usage limits, or overloading it;
- scrape, copy or resell the Service, or access it with bots or automated scripts except through features we provide for that purpose; or
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law expressly allows it.
10.Your files and content
You keep all rights to the files, text and other content you use with the Service ("Your Content"), and to the files you create with it. We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the rights needed to use, edit and convert it. To the extent we need it to run a feature you request — for example to send selected text to our AI provider — you give us a limited, temporary permission to process Your Content only for that purpose.
11.AI features
- AI responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Review them before you rely on them, especially for translations and summaries.
- AI output is not legal, financial, tax, medical or other professional advice, and must not be used for decisions in those areas without review by a qualified professional.
- You are responsible for the text you send to AI features and for how you use the output. Do not submit content you don't have the right to share, or highly sensitive personal data.
- Subject to these Terms, you own the output the AI features generate for you, to the extent the law allows.
- We may refuse or limit AI requests that breach these Terms, and we apply daily usage limits.
12.Invoices and templates
Invoice templates and sample content are provided for convenience only. They are not legal or tax advice. You are responsible for making sure the documents you create are accurate and meet the legal and tax requirements that apply to you.
13.Our intellectual property and copyright complaints
The Service — including its software, design, text, logos and the PDFDoco name — is owned by Zees Comerce LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service in line with these Terms. No other rights are granted.
If you believe content made available through the Service infringes your copyright, email support@pdfdoco.com with: your contact details; a description of the work and of the infringing material, including where it is located; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights owner or authorised to act for them, with your physical or electronic signature. We will respond to valid notices and will terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
14.Advertising and third-party services
The free Service shows advertising, including ads served by Google. Paid plans remove ads. Some features rely on third-party services (such as Paddle for payments and our hosting, account and AI providers), which are described in our Privacy Policy. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
15.Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with notice where reasonably possible, if:
- you materially breach these Terms, or repeatedly or seriously breach them;
- a payment is not made or is reversed (for example through a chargeback);
- we reasonably believe your use creates a security, fraud or legal risk for us, other users or third parties; or
- we are required to do so by law.
If we terminate a paid plan without cause, we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination — including sections 10, 13, 16, 18, 19 and 20 — continue to apply.
16.Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times, or that every file will be processed correctly — PDF files vary widely, and some may not convert or open as expected. Always check the files you create before relying on them.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
17.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, the law or our business. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable notice — for example by email or a notice on the site — before it takes effect. Changes do not apply retroactively.
18.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zees Comerce LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US $50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
19.Indemnity
If you use the Service for business purposes, you agree to defend and indemnify Zees Comerce LLC against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from Your Content or from your breach of these Terms or of the law.
20.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except that if you are a consumer living outside the United States, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at support@pdfdoco.com — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.
21.General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
